About Dr. Ahmad

Dr Mohammad Tauqeer Ahmad is a neurologist practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. He has a special interest in strokes, epilepsy movement disorders and neuroimmunology. He has experience in treating strokes with neuro-intervention. Dr Ahmad graduated from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India and later became a member of the Royal College of Physicians, London. He pursued his masters in internal medicine in National University of Singapore (NUS) and received his fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, UK. Furthermore, he has a fellowship from the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in neurology and internal medicine, as well as membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. After completing his residency from AMU, he joined Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as a medical officer and worked in multiple departments such as internal medicine, haematology, cardiology and neurology. He then moved on to become a registrar at the National Neuroscience Institute (SGH) and completed his basic and advanced training at SGH. He was also a clinical tutor at NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Dr Ahmad is actively involved in post-graduate and undergraduate medical training, as well as in imparting knowledge to allied healthcare workers and the public. He is an active participant in local committees and a reviewer to many peer-reviewed journals related to neurology. He has also published papers in journals such as Movement Disorders and the Annals of Indian Academy of Neurology. He has also participated in many media interviews and public awareness programmes to share his experience and knowledge with the local public on his expertise in stroke management and neurology in general. Throughout his medical career, Dr Ahmad has achieved many awards and recognition for his work in the medical landscape in Singapore, such as the Best Medical Officer Award (SGH), Service Quality Partners Award

Dr Harish Mithiran Muthiah is a thoracic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. Dr Harish completed his medical school and upon completing his basic surgical training, joined NUH where he began this training in cardiothoracic surgery. While at NUH, he started the robotic thoracic surgery programme and the rib fracture fixation programme. He has performed more than 2,500 thoracic surgeries since 2014. He also performs novel lung surgery techniques including U-VATS, RATS, lung localisation techniques and navigational bronchoscopy. He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years. He was the associate programme director for the cardiothoracic residency programme and a clinical tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr Harish is a council member for the chapter of cardiothoracic surgeons at the Academy of Medicine Singapore, assistant treasurer of the South East Asian Thoracic Society and a member of European Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

He was also a visiting consultant medical oncologist for the National Healthcare Group (NHG). He graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia and then underwent training in medical oncology in Victoria, Australia, culminating in a fellowship in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr Wong holds a clinical diploma in palliative care from the Victorian Chapter of Palliative Medicine, Australia. While at JHSIMC and TTSH, Dr Wong was involved in multidisciplinary tumour boards in gastrointestinal, thoracic and genitourinary malignancies, and led a number of clinical trials. He has also been an invited speaker regionally. Besides his clinical work, he was the programme director of NHG’s medical oncology training programme. He also served as a member of TTSH’s drug and therapeutics committee. Dr Wong was a clinical teacher at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University. He has lectured at various oncology meetings at both national and regional levels, especially on the topic of genitourinary cancers, and given several public talks on cancer awareness.

Before moving into private practice, Dr Kim was a senior consultant at National University Hospital (NUH), National University Cancer Institute, Singapore and Alexandra Hospital. He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He spent a year at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, South Korea, for his clinical and research fellowship, mastering laparoscopic and robotic surgery for gastric cancer. Dr Kim has a strong interest in innovation in surgery, embracing technology such as artificial intelligence and robotics to improve existing techniques and help patient outcomes. He also is an early adopter of new techniques, being part of the team that performed the first pressurised intraperitoneal aerosolised chemotherapy (PIPAC) procedure in Asia, conducting several first-in-the-world trials on PIPAC, and also being the first in the region to successfully perform mediastinoscopy-assisted transhiatal esophagectomy for patients in whom conventional esophagectomy approaches were not feasible. He has also recently performed the first endoscopic full thickness resection for submucosal tumours of the stomach and the first endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty for bariatric patients at NUH. He was a clinical lecturer for the department of surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, before being appointed an assistant professor. He has been involved in postgraduate education and was the programme director of the National University Health System’s general surgery residency programme. Dr Kim has authored more than 50 papers and has also served as an instructor at local and regional endoscopic and surgical workshops, and has been invited to speak at international conferences on robotic surgery, artificial intelligence in upper gastrointestinal surgery, and on surgical innovation and techniques. He is a reviewer for several journals including the Annals of Surgical Oncology and Obesity Surgery. He currently serves as president-elect, executive committee of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore, the upper gastrointestinal lead and board member of the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore, and the national coordinator for The Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons Society. He is also a member of the Singapore Medical Association, and Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia Society. Dr Kim also has a passion for cancer survivorship, helping to organise and facilitate the upper gastrointestinal support group at NUH. He is a recipient of the Alexandra Hospital’s Esprit de Corps Award and the COVID-19 Resilience Medal.

Dr Kam has received various awards, including the Class of 1975 Book Prize, SingHealth Best House Officer Award, and Service with a Heart Award. More recently, she received the inaugural Singapore Thoracic Society Young Investigator’s Award in 2022, as well as the 2025 ATS-APSR Travel Award. She is well-published in international peer-reviewed journals and has been an invited speaker and faculty member at local, regional and international conferences.
