Dr Lee Cheng Kiang is a neurosurgeon practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. Dr Lee graduated from the National University of Singapore's Medicine Faculty in the year 2000. He obtained his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Masters of Medicine in general surgery in 2005. He applied for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Neurosurgery training programme in 2004 and obtained his Fellowship in Neurosurgery in 2009. During his training, he was seconded to the Metropolitan Health Service of Western Australia where he covered neurosurgical service in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital focusing primarily on neuro-oncology, spinal degenerative diseases, nerve compression syndromes, vascular and skull base neurosurgical conditions. In addition, he was responsible for head injury coverage at the Royal Perth Hospital and paediatric neurosurgical conditions at the Princess Margaret Hospital. During his tenure in public service, Dr Lee Cheng Kiang lectured medical students from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine regularly, he was also regularly invited to give lectures on perioperative considerations for neurosurgery and neuro-oncology to the advanced diploma in nursing students at Nanyang Polytechnic. He also contributed to surgery education as a faculty member for the Singhealth surgery residency programme. Dr Lee Cheng Kiang was actively involved in the management and surgery of neurosurgical patients during his tenure with the National Neuroscience Institute and Changi General Hospital. In addition, he was also responsible for ensuring that high clinical standards and quality of care were dispensed at the workplace as the chairman of morbidity and mortality audit committee for neurosurgery at Changi General Hospital, and was chief quality (clinical) officer in the neurosurgery department Singapore General Hospital and member of the trauma committee of the Singapore General Hospital. He was a member of the medical board in Changi General Hospital.

Ling Zhixing Marcus

Dr Marcus Ling is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. His clinical interest is spine surgery, with a special focus on minimally invasive surgery (keyhole surgery), endoscopic surgery and motion preserving disc replacement surgery. The spinal conditions he treats include degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis/spondylolisthesis, herniated disc (slipped disc), degenerative cervical myelopathy/radiculopathy, osteoporotic vertebral fractures and adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. He also treats a wide range of general orthopaedic conditions including fractures and degenerative joints. He was previously a senior consultant in the department of orthopaedic surgery at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He was also the director of clinical services of the SingHealth Duke-National University of Singapore (NUS) Spine Centre. Dr Ling graduated from NUS. He subsequently went on to complete his training in orthopaedic surgery and was elected a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. Upon receiving the Health Manpower Development Plan award, he went on to work as a fellow at the University of Miami, USA. During his fellowship, he was trained in complex spinal deformity surgery and advanced minimally invasive techniques such as awake endoscopic lumbar interbody fusion (EndoLIF®) surgery. In 2024, he introduced EndoLIF® surgery in Singapore. He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years. Besides his clinical work, he is also active in research and teaching. Dr Ling was also a clinical lecturer at the faculty of medicine, NUS. Dr Ling was a recipient of the Service with a Heart Award at SGH.

Tow Phak Boon Benjamin

Dr Benjamin Tow is an orthopaedic and spine surgeon practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in treating degenerative conditions of the spine, deformity surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery, as well as percutaneous injections for spine conditions. Apart from spine surgery, Dr Tow has extensive experience in managing general orthopaedic conditions of the knee, hip, ankle and upper limb. He is also well-versed with paediatric orthopaedic conditions, having received training at the Kandang Kerbau (KK) Women's and Children's Hospital. Dr Tow graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1998. He subsequently obtained his Master of Medicine (Orthopaedics) at NUS and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Orthopaedics), United Kingdom. Dr Tow completed his fellowship at the UCLA Comprehensive Spine Centre, Los Angeles, USA, where he was mentored by Professor Jeffrey Wang and Dr Larry Khoo. Upon return from his overseas attachment in 2007, Dr Tow practised as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). Besides performing a high volume of spine surgery, Dr Tow was also a member of the trauma service, performing numerous surgeries for patients with traumatic fractures of the upper and lower limb.

Wu Pang Hung

Dr Wu Pang Hung is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. His subspecialty interest is in minimally invasive spine surgery (endoscopic spine surgery) for cervical, thoracic and lumbar degenerative conditions, pain management, spinal deformity, spinal tumour and spinal trauma. He was an orthopaedic consultant at the JurongHealth Campus, National University Health System (NUHS). He is currently a visiting consultant at NUHS, National Neuroscience Institute and Sengkang General Hospital. Dr Wu graduated from the National University of Singapore. He obtained a graduate diploma in family medicine and membership in the Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland). He completed his advanced orthopaedic surgical training by obtaining fellowship in Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), UK. He obtained several fellowship awards in Asia, Europe and North America. He received the ASEAN orthopaedic junior travelling fellowship to orthopaedic and spine centres in ASEAN regions to understand the regional orthopaedic disease patterns and treatment strategies. He also received the AO trauma fellowship to practice at BG Klinik Ludwigshafen Trauma Centre, Germany for spine and orthopaedic trauma fixation techniques. He had an observership in Wellington Hospital, New Zealand for lumbar anterolateral access minimally invasive spinal surgery. Dr Wu received the full-year AO spine North America fellowship at Toronto Western Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children and Sunnybrook Hospital, and was exposed to complex paediatric and adult spinal deformity, complex spinal trauma, spinal tumour and tubular microscopic minimally invasive surgery. After completing several fellowships ranging from open to microscopic tubular surgeries, he furthered his training in minimally invasive spine surgery by obtaining the Ministry of Health scholarship award and became the earliest Singaporean international fellow in endoscopic spine surgery at Nanoori Gangnam Hospital, South Korea. He later obtained the AO Asia Pacific spine fellowship to practice in Okayama Rosai Hospital, Japan. In 2023, he visited Wooridul Spine Hospital and St Peter’s Hospital, South Korea, to enhance his training in cervical and lumbar disc replacement surgeries. Before entering private practice, Dr Wu was the director of the spinal fellowship programme and director of orthopaedic research in the department of orthopaedic surgery, JurongHealth Campus, NUHS. He set up LEADS (Local Endoscopic Awake Discectomy Surgery) protocol and ambulatory uniportal and biportal endoscopic spine surgery for lumbar decompression and discectomy at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. He was also appointed adjunct assistant professor at NUS. He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years. Dr Wu authored several orthopaedic, neurosurgical textbooks. He is active in the world in different societies and conferences as an endoscopic expert to teach the next generation of endoscopic spine surgeon. He is a recipient of the NUHS Service Ambassador Award.
