Who should take this screening: Women 39 and younger should have an ultrasound for breast cancer screening if they feel a lump in their breast during a physical exam of the breast. Preparation before the screening: - Do not wear deodorant, talcum powder or lotion under the axillary area or on your breast on the exam day. These can interfere with the ultrasound result. - If you have done previous ultrasounds from other locations, please obtain your prior ultrasound to our Consultant Radiologist during the current exam. This is needed for comparison with your current exam. - Scheduling your appointment a week after your period is generally the best time.
