Dr Amitabh Monga is a gastroenterologist practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. He is experienced in both general gastroenterological and hepatological conditions. His subspecialty interest is in therapeutic endoscopy such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), oesophageal, duodenal, and colonic stenting, double balloon enteroscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, and video capsule endoscopy. Dr Monga had previously spent 11 years in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He is currently a visiting consultant at TTSH and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore. He received his MBBS from the University of Delhi, India in 1995 and completed his post-graduation in internal medicine in 1999. He attained his Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2005 and pursued his specialist training in gastroenterology at TTSH. Dr Monga was accredited as a specialist in gastroenterology in 2009 and received his Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2013. He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship by the Ministry of Health, Singapore in 2010 and completed a fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and ERCP at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG), India. He was an invited faculty at GIHep Singapore 2013 to 2018, and also at Singapore Hands-on Live Endoscopy Course (SHOLEC) in 2014 and 2015. Dr Monga was awarded the Yong Loo Lin Medical School Dean’s award for teaching excellence for 2008 and 2009. He played an active role in teaching medical students and was a core faculty in the postgraduate residency programme in gastroenterology.

Bhavesh Kishor Doshi

Dr Bhavesh Doshi is a gastroenterologist at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. His special interests are in gastroscopy and colonoscopy (basic and complex), endoscopic ultrasonography and therapy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), bowel cancer screening, endoscopic mucosal resection, and endoscopic stenting. He has been practising medicine for more than 25 years and has performed more than 4,000 ERCP procedures and more than 4,000 EUS procedures. Dr Doshi was the former endoscopy director at the National University Hospital (NUH) and a visiting consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He is currently a visiting consultant at NUH and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. He graduated from the University of Nottingham and trained as a specialist gastroenterologist at the Mersey Deanery (Liverpool training programme) in the UK. He then completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at the Mersey School of Endoscopy with the focus on endoscopic therapy in pancreaticobiliary diseases, cancer diagnosis and therapy. During this time, he was awarded the British Society of Gastroenterology award to visit the Medical University of South Carolina, USA. At NUH, he was also the lead ERCP operator for post liver transplant complex biliary strictures, leaks and bile duct stones. Dr Doshi was regularly involved with the pancreatobiliary tumour board and liver transplant meetings and was also the founding member of the original pancreas clinic at NUH. He was the earliest endoscopist at NUH to use Axios stents for pancreatobiliary disease, and the only operator at NUH to have performed EUS-guided gastrojejunostomies.

Eric Wee Wei Loong

Dr Eric Wee is a gastroenterologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in digestive and bowel problems such as gastric pain, reflux, bloating and irritable bowel syndrome, as well as pancreatic and liver diseases (viral hepatitis, fatty liver and cirrhosis). With more than 15 years of experience, Dr Wee performs advanced endoscopic procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP for bile duct stones and strictures), endoscopic ultrasound with fine needle aspiration, capsule endoscopy and small bowel enteroscopy. He is also trained to perform the fibroscan, a non-invasive modality to evaluate the liver for fibrosis and cirrhosis. Prior to joining private practice, Dr Wee was the head of the division of gastroenterology and chairman of the nutrition workgroup at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He was also a visiting consultant at the gastroenterology departments of Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the National University Hospital. He obtained his bachelor's degrees and master's degree in internal medicine from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He completed a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK; a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, US; a member of the faculty of medical experts and a fellow of the Academy of Medicine in gastroenterology. He was previously elected to the executive committees of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore and the Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. He was also a senior clinical lecturer at NUS and the associate programme director of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) gastroenterology residency programme. Dr Wee has performed more than 10,000 endoscopic procedures and more than 2,000 advanced procedures including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound. He has received several awards including Expat Living Readers’ Choice Awards (Gastroenterologist), Alexandra Health Service Champion Award (Service), National Healthcare Group Quality Pillar Award (Service) and National Excellent Service Award (Gold). He has published articles and co-authored book chapters on gastric pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, endoscopy and nutrition. In 2018, he was appointed an independent medical expert by the Academy of Medicine to assess the treatment rendered by other specialists.

Lee Piao Jarrod

Dr Jarrod Lee is a gastroenterologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore. His interest is in gastrointestinal cancer screening and prevention, and in harnessing technology for early cancer detection and prevention. He specialises in advanced endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography. Dr Lee set up the gastroenterology service at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) in 2010 and established the division of gastroenterology and the endoscopy centre for the hospital, serving as the clinical lead and chairman of the respective units before leaving for private practice. He was a former visiting consultant at the National University Hospital and KTPH. He graduated in 1998 and completed internal medicine training in 2004. In 2009, he was accredited as a specialist in gastroenterology. Dr Lee is a winner of the American Society Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Audiovisual Award and the ASGE Crystal Award, which are international awards recognising outstanding educational productions and contributions related to gastrointestinal endoscopy. He is the earliest and only person to date from Southeast Asia to win these awards. He lectures extensively both locally and regionally. He is a reviewer for several endoscopy journals in the world and provides consultation for major companies in the endoscopy industry. He is also a frequent guest speaker and writer to the primary healthcare community, partnering with family physicians to improve digestive health in the community. Dr Lee continues to support the public sector as a visiting consultant endoscopist, where he performs advanced procedures for complex cases and trains the next generation of endoscopists.
