About Dr. Mya

Dr Dawn Mya is a haematologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore. She has a special interest in haematological malignancies including acute leukaemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. She manages all general haematology conditions and the disorders of thrombosis and haemostasis, obstetric haematology, and chronic myeloid and lymphoid diseases. She was formerly a consultant haematologist at a private hospital. She also worked as a consultant in the department of haematology at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) where she is currently a visiting consultant overseeing the flow cytometry services for minimal residual diseases for haematological malignancies. Dr Mya graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Medicine, Yangon and subsequently obtained her MRCP from the UK in 2008. She completed her haematology training at SGH and was accredited as a specialist for haematology in 2013. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, UK, in haematology. She received the Health Manpower Development Plan award and did her subspecialty training on the utility of flow cytometry in diagnosis and minimal residual disease assessment of haematological malignancies in the departments of haematology and flow cytometry services at the University of Salamanca, Spain. She has an accreditation for both clinical and laboratory haematology. She was an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and a senior clinical lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Dr Mya received the SingHealth EPIC award in 2013 for leading the team which implemented a new workflow that reduces the time taken for blood products to reach patients. She also received the SingHealth Service Quality Partner Award, SingHealth Quality Service Award (Gold) and SingHealth Quality Service Award (Star).
