Dr. Marianne Anastasia De Roza

Dr Marianne De Roza is a gastroenterologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore. Her subspeciality is in liver disease. She regularly performs endoscopic procedures, including cancer screening gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as therapeutic interventions to remove polyps or control bleeding. Dr De Roza was the former head of the hepatology service at Sengkang General Hospital. She is currently a visiting consultant at the hospital. She graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and obtained her master’s degree there. Having a special interest in palliative hepatology and liver cirrhosis, she further pursued a graduate diploma in palliative medicine and was director of the multidisciplinary liver supportive care programme – PEACE, a pilot programme she established for end-stage liver disease. She wrote and implemented hospital protocols and served as a committee member in various workgroups for liver disease. She is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and the Royal College of Physicians, UK. Her research interests include fatty liver, palliation in liver disease, liver cirrhosis and its complications. She has participated in several multi-centre research collaborations with competitive grant support. Besides her clinical work, Dr De Roza was an assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and a clinical lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She was also the site director, core faculty and clinical competency committee member for the SingHealth gastroenterology senior residency programme. Dr De Roza is a recipient of the You Sparkle! awards, You Shine Award and the Singapore Health Quality Service awards.
