Dr. Wong Choon Heng is a consultant physician specializing in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology with extensive expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. He provides comprehensive gastrointestinal and liver care, focusing on minimally invasive endoscopic procedures and evidence-based management of digestive disorders. Dr. Wong obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Malaya before advancing his postgraduate physician training. He later became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK) and completed his Master of Medicine at the University of Malaya. In 2008, he was accredited as a Gastroenterologist by the National Specialist Registrar (NSR) of Malaysia. His clinical expertise includes basic and advanced upper and lower gastrointestinal therapeutic endoscopy, including polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), variceal ligation, gastrointestinal stenting, PEG insertion, and laser or APC therapy. He also specializes in therapeutic ERCP procedures such as biliary and pancreatic stenting, bile duct stone removal, and cholangioscopy, as well as Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) including EUS-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA).
