Dr. Shaharudeen Kamaludeen

Dr. Shaharudeen Kamaludeen is a Consultant Infectious Diseases Physician with extensive expertise in managing complex infectious diseases, tropical infections, antimicrobial resistance, and preventive medicine. He is recognised for his clinical leadership in infectious disease care, antimicrobial stewardship, and medical education in Malaysia. His practice focuses on delivering evidence-based and patient-centred treatment for both common and highly complex infectious conditions. Dr. Shaharudeen completed his medical degree at Melaka Manipal Medical College before pursuing specialist training in Internal Medicine at the University of Malaya. He later completed advanced fellowship training in Infectious Diseases in Malaysia, strengthening his expertise in tropical medicine, emerging infections, multidrug-resistant organisms, sexually transmitted infections, and healthcare-associated infections. He has special interests in severe dengue management, malaria, HIV care, multidrug-resistant infections, travel-related infections, and infection prevention strategies. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Shaharudeen has contributed significantly to national infectious disease education and infection control initiatives, including serving as President of the Malaysian Society of Infection Control and Infectious Diseases (MyICID).
