Dr. Chumut Phanthunane is a medical oncologist at Vejthani International Hospital's Life Cancer Center, specialising in thoracic cancer (lung), head and neck cancer, and hepatobiliary cancer. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University in 2002 and completed his Medical Oncology board certification at Chiang Mai University in 2015. Dr. Chumut has been recognised internationally for his contributions to oncology, receiving Merit Awards from ESMO Immuno-Oncology 2019 in Geneva, a Travel Grant from the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology (JSMO 2022) in Tokyo, and a selected participant invitation for the ESMO Advanced Course on EGFR in Lung Cancer in Hong Kong in 2024. His research interests include comprehensive genomic profiling in lung, breast, and colon cancer; cell-free DNA in lung cancer; and prognostic biomarkers in head and neck cancer. He is a member of the Thai Society of Clinical Oncology (TSCO) and practises precision medicine in daily clinical care, integrating genomic medicine to guide personalised cancer treatment decisions. He consults in English and Thai, with outpatient clinics on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
