Dr. Yuen Wai Heng is a Senior Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist (ENT Surgeon) at The Ascent Ear Nose Throat Specialist Group, providing specialist care for both adults and children. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, he specializes in disorders affecting the ear, hearing, balance system, and lateral skull base. Since 2010, he has successfully performed more than 100 cochlear implant procedures and is highly experienced in hearing implant surgery and advanced otologic care.
His clinical expertise encompasses otology, neurotology, hearing implants, lateral skull base surgery, and comprehensive ENT care. He manages hearing loss, ear infections, cholesteatoma, tinnitus, balance disorders, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, thyroid nodules, throat disorders, paediatric ENT conditions, and sleep-related breathing disorders. His practice integrates advanced surgical techniques with patient-centred care to improve hearing, balance, and overall quality of life.
Dr. Yuen graduated from the National University of Singapore and subsequently obtained postgraduate qualifications including MRCS (Edinburgh), Master of Medicine in Otorhinolaryngology, Diploma in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery (England), Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine, Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore, and a Master of Health Professions Education from Maastricht University. He further completed advanced fellowship training in Otology, Neurotology, Hearing Implants, and Lateral Skull Base Surgery in Canada and Australia under the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP). In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at NUS and Duke-NUS Medical School, contributes extensively to postgraduate surgical education, and has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles while serving on international editorial and professional boards.
