Dr. Geetha Visvalingam

Dr. Geetha Visvalingam is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Thomson Women's Clinic (Katong), with a special interest in endometriosis and comprehensive women's healthcare. She provides a full spectrum of obstetric and gynaecological services, including antenatal and postnatal care, early pregnancy management, family planning, contraceptive counselling, menopause care, and screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) for both women and their partners. She also manages a wide range of gynaecological conditions, including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, menstrual disorders, and heavy menstrual bleeding. Dr. Geetha is highly experienced in both medical and surgical management of women's health conditions. Her surgical expertise includes hysterectomy, myomectomy, minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery, and complex hysteroscopy, enabling her to provide individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's clinical needs and reproductive goals. She obtained her medical degree from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, before completing specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Ireland and advanced specialist training at KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH), Singapore. Prior to joining Thomson Women's Clinic, she led the STI Clinic at KKH, where she implemented quality improvement initiatives that enhanced referral pathways, STI results management, and patient education. Dr. Geetha is also actively involved in medical education, mentoring junior doctors and residents, and contributing to clinical research and quality improvement projects. Her dedication to patient care and professional excellence has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Singapore Health Quality Service Gold Award, the Star Award, the COVID-19 Resilience Medal, and the 10 Years Long Service Award.
