Ng Zhi Xu

Dr Ng Zhi Xu is a neurosurgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. His subspecialties are spine and neuro-oncological surgery. He is proficient in open and minimally invasive techniques for managing a wide range of spinal conditions, including spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal trauma, fractures and tumours. Dr Ng also specialises in treating brain conditions, including tumours (meningiomas, pituitary tumours and vestibular schwannomas), vascular disorders (aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations), hydrocephalus, strokes and traumatic head injuries. He is experienced in performing craniotomies, neuroendoscopy and endoscopic transphenoidal surgery, stereotactic surgery, and non-invasive Gamma Knife radiosurgery. Prior to joining private practice, he was a former neurosurgeon at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), with an emphasis on spinal surgery. Dr Ng graduated from the National University of Singapore. He did his clinical training at the National University Hospital (NUH) and KTPH. He enhanced his subspecialty expertise in spine and neuro-oncological surgery through a 1-year clinical fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, UK. He has been involved in research and has collaborated with institutions including the National Neuroscience Institute and NUH.
