Dr. Imran Nawaz is a Senior Consultant General Surgeon with extensive experience in both routine and complex surgical care, including minimally invasive procedures and surgical oncology. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1982 and began his surgical training at Singapore General Hospital, rotating through general surgery, orthopedics, and cardiothoracic surgery. After completing basic surgical training, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1987. He subsequently served at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, progressing from Registrar to Senior Registrar and Consultant Surgeon, and also contributed to medical education as a Clinical Tutor at NUS. In 1990, he was awarded the Singapore Government Higher Manpower Development Scholarship in General and Vascular Surgery, completing advanced fellowship training at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. In 1995, he entered private practice as a Senior Consultant in General Surgery. His clinical expertise includes general surgical procedures such as hernia repair, hemorrhoid treatment, appendectomies, and gallstone surgery, as well as minimally invasive surgery and cancer surgery involving the colon, rectum, stomach, thyroid, and breast. He has also contributed to trauma training as Course Director of the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) programme and has served in senior leadership roles within the Singapore Armed Forces Medical Services.
